How it works
- 1
Check the DIN
We look up your DIN's KYC status on the MCA portal and tell you which form applies: the full e-form or the web KYC.
- 2
Collect details
You send your PAN, Aadhaar and address proof, and confirm the mobile number and email you want on record.
- 3
OTP and signature
The MCA sends OTPs to your mobile and email to verify them. For the e-form, you also sign with your DSC, and a practising professional certifies it.
- 4
Filing
We file the form, pay any late fee at actuals and send you the receipt. For a reactivation, we follow up until the DIN shows as active again.
Who needs DIR-3 KYC
Every individual who has been allotted a DIN has to complete KYC with the MCA, whether they are a director of a company or a designated partner of an LLP, and whether or not they are on any board right now. The MCA sets how often KYC is due and the last date, and we keep track of it for our clients.
The first KYC, and any KYC after your mobile number or email has changed, is filed in the DIR-3 KYC e-form with your DSC and a professional's certificate. If nothing has changed since your last KYC, the shorter DIR-3 KYC-WEB with OTP verification is usually enough.
If your DIN is deactivated
If KYC isn't filed by the due date, the MCA marks the DIN as deactivated. Until it's reactivated, the DIN can't be used in MCA filings, which can hold up the company's own forms as well.
To reactivate it, the director files the DIR-3 KYC e-form with the late fee the MCA charges. A DIN that's disqualified for another reason, such as a company's long-pending annual filings, is a different matter and needs its own review.
Frequently asked questions
When is DIR-3 KYC due?
The MCA notifies how often KYC is due and the last date for it. We check your DIN's status and tell you whether, and by when, you need to file.
What's the difference between DIR-3 KYC and DIR-3 KYC-WEB?
The e-form is used the first time and whenever your mobile number or email changes. It needs your DSC and a professional's certificate. The web KYC is a shorter confirmation by OTP when nothing has changed since your last KYC.
My DIN is deactivated. What now?
File the DIR-3 KYC e-form with the late fee. Once the MCA accepts it, the DIN becomes active again. Our reactivation package covers it.
Do I need KYC if I'm not a director of any company now?
Yes, if you still hold a DIN. KYC is linked to the DIN, not to a seat on a board.
Can two directors use the same mobile number or email?
No. The MCA wants each director's own mobile number and email address, and verifies them by OTP.
Do I need a DSC?
For the e-form, yes. For the web KYC, OTPs are enough. If your DSC has expired, we can arrange a new one.
